I am a Painter

Over the years I have came in contact with many mediums to express myself in. As said, I am a self taught artists and the bit of tutoring I got was basically an introduction to Watercolor painting and silkscreen printing.  I did various pieces in watercolor and it sold well, but the medium was not completely what I wanted.  My father used to paint in oil paint, but he stopped long before I became interested in art.  I still have some of his work.  As he was a carpenter, I was later more involved in designing woodwork carving designs for him.

Acrylic is the medium I fell in love with because of its brilliant, clean colors that is fast drying, so I can finish a painting in a day or two.  If I want it to be a bit slow drying, I can make use of the various  substances that will give me a typical oil paint feeling.  Because I'm an impatient painter and want  to finish a painting in one day, Acrylic is the best for me.  I also prefer the apique color that will give me fast coverage and not need to do lyers a lot.  If I want to, I can thin it to give me a watercolor feel and effect if needed.

I'm so grateful for Prime Cut Restaurant in Rayton, where some of my paintings are hanging.

I use different mediums to paint with, and will use any medium and color pigment to achieve the end result I want, even food coloring or natural charcoal.  I paint what I feel is right for that specific moment and emotion in my life.  Below is a painting I did with food coloring and was done in a time that I had nothing better to express myself with.  The colors is still as bright as the day I painted it.

Below is one of my first paintings I did with Acrylic paint. I paint on different backgrounds, may it be prepared canvases, hardboard, paper, or whatever I can lay my hands on and each techniques is seen on the material it suits the best.

Art classes

I had the opportunity to be able  to give art classes too.  The I gave classes to the children, was somewhat informal and usually over school holidays.  Below is some of my students busy with their art.
